Mainly the casting
Chronology
A series adaptation of James Patterson’s novel about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross. Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which was a box office smash and led Lionsgate to cancel its previously planned sequel, Double Cross. The Amazon series starts off with a few problems.
Alex is a good choice!
If you’ve read all the Alex Cross books, you have your own image of the larger-than-life characters who come to life as soon as you read the pages. As with many romantic crossover movies, they just didn’t get the characters right. But John Sampson should have been a much bigger man.
The younger kids are fine
Like a wide, big football player. I associate this Alex as my favorite cross. But Mama Nana is too young and I see her as a slimmer woman with a BIG personality who always cooks nice, enjoyable food!
No, wrapping, carrots and celery
Her meals in the warm, older kitchen were so well written I could taste her pate and cookies! Marija only has a small role and wasn’t what I imagined her to be either. I hope he meets Bree Stone?
Julie Nolan Julie T-shirt
The music is distracting and I can see the friendship between him and Sampson but it’s not as strong as in the novels, I still like it and the serial killer fits, one of many that Det Cross has to bring to justice, it’s just that the plot is a bit confusing and the killer is revealed quite quickly, I hope the show gets a second, third and fourth season so the actors can get into their stories from the novels. They are the heart of Cross’ success! Thank you Amazon for bringing Alex Cross to Prime!
