He’s smart. He’s charming. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer who spends his days solving crimes and committing them at night. During season 8, Angel Batista wasn’t always played by David Zayas. His son, David Zayas Jr., fills in for his father in some scenes because they look strikingly similar. As seen in the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later, in the second season, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side unnoticed. Dexter Morgan: I lived in the dark for a long time. Over the years, my eyes adjusted until the darkness became my world and I began to see… Performed at the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards (2007). The main theme was written by Rolf Kent, performed by Rolf Kent. Dexter, a forensic scientist by day, a serial killer with a touch of vigilantism by night. Dexter creates a believable and highly detailed portrait of, shall we say, a troubled sociopath. One of the parts of the show I love the most is the emotions that normal people show and forcing Dexter to mimic them. Good laughs when Dexter’s fake emotions become real and he is scared, like in his relationship with his “girlfriend” Rita, a mother of two and the victim of her abusive ex-boyfriend. I also liked Jennifer Carpenter’s performance as Dexter’s sister Debra, she brings a nice touch to the show without falling into clichés. Exciting story, lots of detail and one of the best opening scenes ever.
