Divine G, who was not convicted of a crime in Sing Sing, finds purpose in a theater group with other incarcerated men in this story about resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art. In the film, the actors try out different parts of the play. These are actual audition tapes that are used to cast the characters in the film. The group has been criticized for not doing comedy, but their previous play was A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is a comedy. Rating: 8.7 Overall, a powerful film that shows that inmates are still human despite their flaws, as the film uses the graduates of the Sing Sing RTA program to deliver a powerful message of redemption, all with a great performance by Coleman Domingo.
