Chronology
Tells about Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. The second of the two-part feature adaptation of the Broadway musical. Wicked first announced that it would be split into two films in April 2022, with composer Stephen Schwartz explaining, “The truth is that we’ve been asking for a while to make it one film (which) required us to cut or cut out things that we wanted include which we think fans of the show and history will appreciate.” He added: “It was very difficult for us to get past Defying Gravity without a break. This song was written specifically to bring down the curtain, and any wall that followed it without a break just felt extremely disappointing.” Featured in AniMat’s Crazy Cartoon Lineup: Chip & Dale: The New Legacy (2022).
